I have an old version of Logic from about 20 years ago. Can I use it on a current Mac?
It is basically impossible to directly run Logic from about 20 years ago (such as Logic 7 or earlier, from the PowerPC era) on current Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3, etc.) or recent Intel Macs. The reason is that older software was built for 32-bit or PowerPC architectures, current macOS (Catalina and later) has completely ended support for 32-bit apps, and Rosetta 2 does not run PowerPC apps. If you desperately need to open project files from that era, you will need to prepare an old Mac running an older OS, or try importing them into current Logic Pro (if the file format is supported).
