The main difference between "Realtime (FPGA/DSP)" and "Native" in Antelope Audio plugins lies in the hardware that performs the processing and the latency.
Realtime: Processing is done using the FPGA and DSP chips built into Antelope's audio interface. It keeps the computer's CPU load near zero, allowing you to apply effects with ultra‑low latency (almost zero delay) while recording or monitoring, enabling performance and singing.
Native: Processing uses the computer's CPU. Even without connecting Antelope hardware, as long as you have iLok authorization, it works as a normal plugin in the DAW, but latency occurs according to the buffer size (suitable for mixing and mastering).
In summary, Realtime is "real‑time processing during recording (hardware processing)", while Native is "plugin processing during mixing (CPU processing)".
