When using Genelec G Three with speaker stands, is desktop mode necessary?

I am using Genelec G Three as monitor speakers by placing them on speaker stands on top of my desk. Even when using these speaker stands, is it necessary to use the desktop mode? Also, what kind of settings would be best in this case? Please let me know.

You don't need to force desktop mode. Since the stand absorbs vibrations well, the kind of vibration you get on a desk won't happen. However, everyone's environment is different, so if you try it and feel that it allows you to monitor better, I think desktop mode is fine too.
